Faith Formation Classes
Our Adult Faith Formation Classes are held on Sunday mornings from 9:45-10:45 am.
Faith & Fellowship Hall Class meets around tables with teaching by a variety of leaders and topics concerning faith and life. Often led by one of our pastors, this class offers a breadth of topics ranging from theology to connecting faith and current events. (Fellowship Hall)
Text Talk explores scripture from the morning’s worship service in more depth and helps participants learn to read, reflect, relate, and apply that scripture to our daily lives.. This class is led by retired seminary professor, Jane Vann. (Room 112)
Koinonia Small Groups
FPCA will be starting Koinonia small groups this fall to support members in their faith life and to build Christian friendships.
Groups will meet for 90 minutes, twice a month, October-May. These groups will be participant based, with a trained facilitator. The curriculum will help participants explore different ways of experiencing the power of God, spiritual practices, the enneagram, and ways to engage scripture. For more information, please contact Pastor Shannon Jordan at sjordan@fpcasheville.org.
Presbyterian Women
For the 2023-2024 topic, the PW will be studying “Sacred Encounters: The Power and Presence of Jesus Christ in Luke-Acts.” The first meeting will be on Sept. 11 at the church in room 112 at 10:30 am and subsequent meetings will usually be on the first Monday of the month through May at 10:30 am. See weekly emails for times and locations. For more information, contact Pastor Shannon at sjordan@fpcasheville.org.
Women Studies
Women’s Studies events cover a wide range of topics from history, to theology, to culture.
This year the topics include the complexity of racism for women in Asheville, best practices for getting our affairs in order, book studies, and more. These monthly events are open to all women and usually meet on the third Thursday of the month. Information on time and location will be in weekly emails or bulletin.
Men’s Fellowship
Wednesday Morning Group
There is a group of men that meet on Wednesday mornings. Please check weekly email or bulletin for time and location.

Young Adult Ministry
The FPCA Young Adults group (formerly known as FLO – “Figuring Life Out”) is back… “Still FLO!”
This is a group of FPCA young adults and friends who gather monthly to hang out and have fun, build community, and grow in faith by having meaningful conversations about God, Scripture, and following Christ as a young adult in today’s world.
Our general pattern is to alternate months between fun/recreational activities and deeper/more purposeful gatherings for conversation (about a film, book, passage, or topic).
We are geared toward adults without children, in their 20s and 30s… but we are not exclusive! If you have children, or are outside that age range, and think this group may be for you. It is!
