For centuries, Christians have marked the season of Lent with special spiritual practices that are designed to make room for the Spirit, to grow in our faith, and turn our hearts toward God. It’s my hope that, as you look through the services and programs offered at FPC-A during this season, you will see them as an opportunity for spiritual focus and growth. If you have any questions about one of these options, or would like to know more about our ministry and mission at FPCA, please reach out to Shannon at sjordan@fpcasheville.org.

Wednesday Night Lenten Dinner and Discussion: Important Issues Through the Lens of Faith

In this Lenten Wednesday night series we will discuss important contemporary issues such as patriotism, money,
climate and more through the lens of our Christian faith. In the first session on Feb. 21, participants will be invited
to suggest other topics that they would like to explore together. Wednesday nights, 6:00 pm – 6:45 pm. 2/21 – 3/20,
Fellowship Hall.

New Faith & Fellowship Class! What Does It Mean to Be Presbyterian?

The Presbyterian Church (USA) is one denomination of the larger Church, and our identity is unique. In this class, taught by the pastors, we will explore
important aspects of our PC(USA) identity, namely the essential tenets of Reformed faith, church government and
life, worship and sacraments, women in ministry, and the call to Christian service. We’ll also take some time to talk
about the particular identity of FPC-A. This class is ideal for new members and for parents of confirmands. As a
Lenten study, it is also nourishing for us all to be reminded of the foundations of our Presbyterian expression of
Christian faith. Sundays, beginning Feb. 18, Fellowship Hall, 9:45 am.

Grove City College Touring Choir Concert

Racial Justice Training

FPCA is partnering with YWCA of Asheville to offer a Racial Justice Workshop to the congregation. If you would like to learn more about racial justice, and how we as individuals and a congregation can step deeper into that work, sign up and join members of the FPCA Racial Justice Team on 3/16 from
10 am – 3 pm in the Fellowship Hall. Lunch is included with the $10.00 registration fee. Registration link is in our weekly emails, or you can email dgermer@fpcasheville.org.

command to love one another. 3/28.

Good Friday

On Good Friday, the “three-day service” continues at 7:pm with worship in the Sanctuary by

trial, crucifixion, and burial of Jesus. 3/29

Easter Sunday

Identical worship services at 8:45 am and 11:00 am in the Sanctuary. An Easter potluck brunch and Egg Hunt
