from Rev. Caitlin Johnson
There are many ways that you can practice Lent at home. While you are on the Children’s Hall this week check out the library cart for some reading recommendations for Lent. Here are three I recommend:
Twas the Season of Lent by Glenys Nellist
This picture book devotional is a 40 day guide for families to immerse themselves in the stories of Jesus during Lent. Using poetry, rhyme, story, and prayer, this would make a great family read-aloud during Lent either at the breakfast table or before bed.
Make Room: A Child’s Guide to Lent and Easter by Laura Alary
Cailtin loves Laura Alary’s guides to the liturgical seasons, including this one. This book can be used by the whole family to deepen your experience of Lent this year.
Faithful Families for Lent by Traci Smith
An engaging read with simple, meaningful practices and seasonal prayers. This book will walk you as the grown up through the season with ways you can practice Lent at home as a family.
